media
outlet
for
60
percent
of the
Valley’s
families
. For a
region
of
California
that was
characterized
by
isolation
, by the
end
of the
1950s
there was not a
single
spot
in the
Sacramento
Valley
that
could
hide
from a
television
picture
.
