This
aerial
view
from the
1930s
shows
the
layout
of the
California
State
Fair
as
it
stood
on
2751
Stockton
Boulevard
. The
domed
structure
is
the
Agricultural
Building
,
later
to be
called
the
Counties
Building
while
the
tower
marks
the
location
of the
Machinery
Hall
. The
grandstand
which
abuts
the
racetrack
was
built
in
1926
, but
sections
of the
structure
collapsed
just
a
month
prior
to
opening
day
due
to
poorly
mixed
concrete
.
